Home Fix Reference ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at homefixreference.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from Site visitors, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

Information we collect
We collect two categories of information:
Information you provide directly. This includes your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, the contents of any message you send us, and any personal information you include in a correction submission or contact form.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we (and our third-party service providers) automatically collect:
- Your device's IP address (used for analytics, security, and — for European visitors — determining that GDPR applies)
- Your browser type and version, operating system, screen size, and device type
- The pages you visit on the Site, referring URL, and time spent on each page
- Approximate geographic location (city / region level, derived from IP address)
- Whether you accepted or rejected cookie categories via our cookie banner
We do not collect government identification numbers, financial account information, health information, or precise GPS location. See our Cookie Policy for the specific cookies used.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Site
- Send you the newsletter you subscribed to (only if you subscribed)
- Respond to your emails, corrections, and contact submissions
- Analyze how visitors use the Site so we can improve the content and structure
- Personalize which recommendations you see (for example, seasonal content matching your region)
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do share pseudonymous data with our analytics, advertising, and hosting providers as described below.

Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Newsletter subscribers who unsubscribe are removed from our active list; a suppression record is retained to prevent accidental re-adds. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months for reference. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (currently 14 months in aggregate).
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact privacy@homefixreference.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page and announced in the newsletter. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
